Despite the uncertainty of the economy, the San Francisco Bay area and in particular, Silicon Valley are creating jobs again. When the rest of the country is reporting zero job growth (currently at 9.1% nationally) a recent report about the San Francisco Bay Area shows companies such as Kaiser Permanente, Apple Inc., eBay Inc., and Lockheed Martin Corp. have listed thousands of jobs in Silicon Valley and the Bay Area. In fact, I have seen an uptick in the work I do as it pertains to hiring, and it makes me feel so fortunate to be living and working in such a vibrant community.
To that end, I am introducing a new segment into my business. This has been an area I have had much passion in and has grown quite organically.

Helping job seekers gives me the opportunity to fulfill my mission and belief that finding fulfilling work can provide great work/life balance and satisfaction. Within 3 months time of formally rolling out services in the area of job seekers, I’ve had the pleasure of presenting at several amazing non-profits. In May, I was able to present to Phase2Careers, helping the over-40-worker prepare for and find employment. In fact, Phase2Careers founder, Ron Visconti and I plan to continue to collaborate. We co-presented at an event at the NUMMI Redevelopment Center in Fremont, CA to transitional employees (those who were laid-off due to the plant closure). In addition, I presented at CSIX in early August. My presentation focused on the ways social media assists in job searches.
After helping family, friends and co-workers for years with their job search, resumes, LinkedIn profiles and prepare for interviews, it was a natural progression to expand my business to include these services.
